How to Use the Dispatch Load Calculator
-
Select Pickup Region
Choose where the load starts. This sets the minimum target rate per mile. -
Enter Fuel, Load Pay, and Miles
Type the numbers from the load details. -
Add Deadhead Miles (if any)
Enter empty miles to pickup. Turn Count Deadhead (Stricter) ON if you want the decision based on true miles. -
Read the Decision
-
YES (Green): Load meets or beats the target rate.
-
NO (Red): Load is below target. Renegotiate or pass.
-
-
Review “Reason for NO”
If a load is rejected, the calculator explains exactly why.
Pickup Region Options
-
Southeast (GA, FL, AL, SC, NC, TN)
Easier miles and frequent reloads, but still needs a rate floor to stay profitable. -
Midwest (IL, IN, OH, MO, IA, WI, MN)
Baseline freight market with steady lanes, fewer tolls, and consistent pricing. -
Northeast (NJ, NY, PA, MA, CT, MD)
Higher costs due to tolls, congestion, delays, and tight delivery windows. Requires higher CPM. -
South (TX, OK, AR, LA)
Texas-centered market with longer runs and different pricing behavior than the Southeast. -
West (CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA)
Higher fuel costs, mountains, longer deadhead, and tougher backhauls. Requires higher CPM.

University Name
Safe · Balanced · Aggressive (What These Mean)
These settings adjust the target rate per mile based on how strict you want to be when choosing loads.
They do not change your pay, miles, or fuel; they only adjust how picky the calculator is.
adin 4
🟢 Safe
Most strict. Highest target CPM.
-
Raises the minimum target rate
-
Best when freight is strong or fuel is high
-
Protects profit and reduces risk
-
Fewer loads, but better ones
Use Safe when:
You can afford to wait for the right load and don’t want to run cheap freight.
🟡 Balanced (Default)
Normal operating mode.
-
Uses standard regional targets
-
Best day-to-day setting
-
Balances consistency and profit
-
Most loads should be judged here
Use Balanced when:
You want steady freight without sacrificing rate per mile.
🔴 Aggressive
Least strict. Lowest target CPM.
-
Lowers the minimum target rate
-
Accepts tighter margins
-
Helps keep trucks moving when freight is slow
-
Still protects against very bad loads
Use Aggressive when:
You need to reposition, get home, or keep wheels moving in a soft market.
Important Note
These modes adjust the target rate, not the math.
The calculator still uses:
-
Pickup Region
-
Fuel protection
-
Deadhead (if turned on)
to make the final YES / NO decision.
